Rachael Carter, practice manager at Langwith Medical Centre, said:
“These facilities are an amazing improvement on our old health centre. As we are a working health centre, we have arranged the two-hour open house around our patient care, but we hope this will still give everyone a good opportunity to see what’s here. We are grateful to our patient participation group for their support in reaching this important milestone.”
It replaces an outdated surgery building on main street with this much larger state-of-the art facility which can accommodate a wider range of GP practice and primary care services for patients.
The single-storey brick building, designed by Thomas Wilson Architects, is four times larger than the practice’s old premises and provides specialist accommodation for health visitors, district and community nurses and therapists.
